Noell Oszvald, a 25-year-old artist in Budapest, creates stunning minimalist self-portraits that she uses to express her anxieties.
“It was my experience with anxiety that led to to make art the way I do today,” Oszvald told lines. magazine. “What I try to achieve is portraying a sense of calmness despite inner turmoil.”
Oszvald is careful not to label herself as a photographer; “I use photography as a base for the images I create, I’m not a photographer.” Many of her images are composites that are carefully cut together to find the perfect balance between light and darkness.
“I needed to find a way of connecting with people through creating while at the same time staying in the shadows”
