Agate Crystals Look Like Tiny Landscape Photos

Published by:

Nature has a fascinating way of repeating itself on micro and macro scales. Vast landscapes, like an ocean shoreline or sweeping hills, can be reproduced by nature in the tiniest things, like these beautiful agate crystals that could fit in your hand or even hang around your neck.

Agate’s characteristic colorful bands are formed by gradual deposits of various layers of silicate materials on the inside of an open cavity in a volcanic rock. The colors are formed when various materials, like iron or copper, filter in with the water and silicates. The resulting colors and dynamic shapes can create beautiful abstract designs or forms that resemble landscapes!

16-Year-Old Invents Stroller-Wheelchair So Disabled Mom Can Wheel Her Baby Outside

Published by:

Sharina Jones was shot when she was five years old and lost the use of her legs. Thirty years later, when she was expecting her first child, she began to wonder how she would manage a stroller while in a wheelchair. By chance, Alden Kain, a Detroit high-school student enrolled in a special design class, was paired up with Jones and tasked to invent a wheelchair stroller. After six months of hard work, his prototype was a success.

“It was great to meet her and talk to her about what she wants and doesn’t want,” Kain explained to The Michigan Catholic. “Talking to her was a big help, figuring out the workability of the device, where to put a diaper bag, whether or not she could unhook the stroller and how she can move around in the chair.” In a separate interview with Today, he added, “It was extremely exciting and rewarding to see Sharina using it.”

Bride’s Dad Stops Wedding To Invite Her Stepfather To Walk Down The Aisle With Them

Published by:

Parents can have their disputes, but when they overcome them for the sake of their children, they show their true parenting chops. At Brittany Peck’s wedding, her biological father stopped the ceremony to invite Peck’s stepfather to join them in their walk down the aisle – a gesture that none of them will ever forget.

“He came up to me, reached out and grabbed my hand and he said ‘hey, you’ve worked for this as hard as I have, you deserve this as much as I do, you’re gonna help us walk our daughter down the aisle,’” step-dad Todd Cendrosky told WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio. Peck’s biological dad, Todd Bachman, said, “What better way to thank somebody than to assist me walking our daughter down the aisle?”

Their 14-year relationship has had its troubles; “It hasn’t always been peaches and cream by any stretch of the imagination,” Bachman said. Fortunately, they were able to put their difficulties aside for this unforgettable day – and the beautiful moments were all captured on camera by wedding photographer Delia Blackburn!
