‘All Things Must Pass’, An Upcoming Film Documenting the Momentous Rise and Heartbreaking Fall of Tower Records

Published by:

All Things Must Pass, an upcoming film by actor/director Colin Hanks, documents the momentous global rise of the legendary music store from its Sacramento, California roots in 1960 to its heartbreakingly inevitable downfall in 1996.

Established in 1960, Tower Records was once a retail powerhouse with two hundred stores, in thirty countries, on five continents. From humble beginnings in a small-town drugstore, Tower Records eventually became the heart and soul of the music world, and a powerful force in the music industry. In 1999, Tower Records made $1 billion. In 2006, the company filed for bankruptcy. What went wrong? Everyone thinks they know what killed Tower Records: The Internet. But thats not the story. All Things Must Pass is a feature documentary film examining this iconic company’s explosive trajectory, tragic demise, and legacy forged by its rebellious founder, Russ Solomon.

All Things Must Pass makes its debut in theaters on October 16, 2015.

Audacious Raccoon Goes For a Swim in the Pool While His Worried Brother Waits to Rescue Him

Published by:

A wonderfully audacious domestic raccoon named Willie enjoys a refreshing turn around the family pool while his worried brother Waylon nervously waits on deck, ready to the rescue when needed.

Several days later Waylon decided that he wanted to join in on the fun and learned how to swim.

According to their human Vicki Coppen, the brothers were adopted from a licensed breeder and have received the love and attention they need, but warns that the animals need a great deal of care.

We had a rescue for 6 years but these are domesticated from a breeder. They are lots if fun but very high maintenance. Do research before you buy.

Guy Proposes To His Photographer Girlfriend With DIY Camera Lens Aperture Box

Published by:

Matthew Chalker, AKA Chalker7, is a California-based “informal educator, curriculum content specialist and digital fabrication expert.” Recently he spent sixty hours crafting a custom mechanical iris aperture engagement ring box to surprise his photographer girlfriend. She said “yes!”

Chalker made the design based on the Instructables plan below, but wrote he would consider crafting another. “I would be happy to make and sell another, but there is a significant time and material investment however. To complete a full box we’d be looking at $2000-$3000 dollars. If you’re interested, send me your contact information and we can talk details!”
