George Takei Offers His Take On the Death of Iconic Comic Book Character Archie

What’s Trending host Shira Lazar sat down with George Takei to get the former Star Trek star’s reaction to the death of Archie. In the story, Archie dies saving the life of Kevin Keller, Riverdale’s first openly gay character, who was friends with fictionalized version of Takei. The actor turned social activist expresses surprise on hearing the news, before offering up his opinion on the matter.

The next generation is coming and Kevin Keller is out and happy. I guess they’re handing the torch over to the new generation, where being gay isn’t a big thing.
